EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro: 768Wh you can carry with one hand
The EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro sits in a sweet spot most power stations miss: enough capacity for a real weekend off grid or an overnight outage, in a body that weighs just 17.2 lb. It stores 768Wh in a LiFePO4 battery, delivers 800W of output with X-Boost up to 1,600W, and refills from a wall outlet in just 70 minutes.
It is the portable power station for camping, road trips, van life and apartment backup, where a heavier 1kWh unit would be overkill and a small one runs out too soon.
What the EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro can run
Estimated runtimes on a full charge, one device at a time, assuming about 85% usable capacity after inverter losses.
| Appliance | Typical draw | Estimated runtime |
|---|---|---|
| Wi-Fi router and modem | 20W | About 32 hours |
| CPAP machine (no humidifier) | 40W | About 16 hours, two nights |
| Mini fridge or 12V cooler | 60W | About 11 hours |
| LED lights, five bulbs | 50W | About 13 hours |
| Laptop | 60W | About 11 hours |
| 55 inch LED TV | 120W | About 5.5 hours |
| Small coffee maker | 800W | About 50 minutes |
| Electric kettle, with X-Boost | 1,500W | Around 25 minutes |
| Smartphone | About 15Wh per charge | Roughly 40 full charges |

Key features
0 to 100% in 70 minutes
EcoFlow’s X-Stream charging fills the RIVER 2 Pro from empty in about 70 minutes from a standard wall outlet. Plug it in while you pack the car and it is full before you leave, or top it up the moment a storm appears on the forecast.
800W output, X-Boost to 1,600W
800W of continuous AC power runs laptops, TVs, lights, fans, mini fridges, CPAP machines and small kitchen appliances. X-Boost lets it run heating appliances rated up to 1,600W, such as kettles and hair dryers, by lowering the voltage slightly, which EcoFlow says covers around 80% of household appliances.
Light enough to take anywhere
At 17.2 lb it is far easier to carry than any 1kWh unit, and the flat top means you can stack gear on it in a car trunk or an RV cabinet. The handle sits toward the back, so it balances well in one hand.
LFP battery rated for 3,000 cycles
The LiFePO4 battery keeps at least 80% of its capacity after more than 3,000 full cycles, which EcoFlow puts at about ten years of everyday use. The RIVER 2 series was also the first portable power station line to earn TÜV Rheinland safety certification.
Solar ready with 220W input
Connect up to 220W of solar through the XT60i input and the unit recharges fully in roughly 3.5 to 4.5 hours of good sun. On a longer trip, that is enough to refill it every day and keep lights, phones and a cooler running indefinitely.
Backup power in under 30ms
Keep essentials plugged in while the EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro charges from the wall, and it switches to battery in under 30 milliseconds if the power drops. That is fast enough for lights, routers, fans and a fish tank pump. For desktop computers or medical devices that need near instant switchover, a model with a sub 10ms UPS, such as the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus, is the better fit.
EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro vs EcoFlow DELTA 2
People often weigh the RIVER 2 Pro against EcoFlow’s larger DELTA 2. The right choice depends on whether you value portability or capacity.
| RIVER 2 Pro | DELTA 2 | |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity | 768Wh | 1,024Wh |
| AC output | 800W (1,600W X-Boost) | 1,800W |
| Solar input | 220W | 500W |
| Expandable | No extra battery port | Yes |
| Weight | 17.2 lb | 27 lb |
| Battery | LFP, 3,000 cycles | LFP, 3,000 cycles |
Which one? Choose the EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro for camping, road trips and light backup, where carrying it matters. Choose a DELTA class unit if you need to run a full size fridge through a long outage, a microwave, or want to expand capacity later.

Frequently asked questions
Can the EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro run a refrigerator?
It runs mini fridges and 12V coolers comfortably, for around 11 hours on a full charge. Many full size fridges also start on it, but their startup surge can approach the 800W limit, so check your fridge’s label. For regular full size fridge backup, a 1kWh DELTA class unit gives more headroom.
What is the difference between the EcoFlow RIVER 2 and the EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro?
The EcoFlow RIVER 2 Pro is the largest model in the RIVER 2 series, with 768Wh and 800W of output. The smaller RIVER 2 models trade capacity and output for an even lighter, more compact body, suited to phones, laptops and lights.
How long does the RIVER 2 Pro take to charge?
About 70 minutes from a wall outlet. With 220W of solar in strong sun, a full recharge takes roughly 3.5 to 4.5 hours, and it also charges from a car’s 12V socket.
How does it compare to the newer RIVER 3 range?
Most RIVER 3 models are smaller and lighter, built for devices and short trips. The RIVER 2 Pro keeps a clear advantage in capacity and output, which is why it remains a favourite for weekend camping and apartment backup.
Is it safe to use indoors?
Yes. There is no fuel, exhaust or carbon monoxide, so it can run inside a tent, an RV or a bedroom. Gas generators are different: FEMA advises keeping them outdoors and at least 20 feet from doors and windows, and its power outage checklist is worth reading before storm season.
