Serving Customers Nationwide Since 2018Backup Power, Chosen by People Who Actually Use It
Power Backup Supply is a specialist US retailer of portable power stations, solar generators, solar panels and whole-home backup systems. We carry a short, deliberate catalogue — the units we would put in our own homes — and we stay reachable long after the box arrives.
It Started With an Outage
That Lasted Too Long
Anyone who has sat through a multi-day blackout knows the order things fail in. The lights go first, then the fridge, then the internet, and eventually the phone you were using to find out when it all comes back. In 2018, after one of those weeks, we went looking for a backup system and ran into a different problem: the buying experience was worse than the outage.
Marketplace listings were a wall of near-identical boxes with copy-pasted specs. Watt-hours, watts, surge ratings and cycle counts were used interchangeably by sellers who plainly didn’t know the difference. Nobody was answering the only question that matters: will this actually run my house?
So we built the store we wanted to buy from. A short catalogue instead of an endless one. Plain-English sizing help instead of spec sheets. And a real person on the other end of the email — before the sale, and long after it.
From One Bad Week to Nationwide Shipping
No overnight success story — just a steadily better catalogue and a lot of customer questions answered along the way.
The Store Opens
We launch with a handful of hand-picked power stations and one rule: only stock what we’d use ourselves.
Solar Joins the Line-up
Customers kept asking how to recharge off-grid, so we added portable solar panels and matched generator bundles.
Whole-Home Backup
Larger capacity systems and expansion batteries arrive, for people covering a full house rather than a few devices.
All 50 States
Thousands of orders later, the catalogue is still deliberately short and the support inbox is still answered by a person.
Six Things We Refuse to Compromise On
These aren’t slogans. They’re the rules we use to decide what to stock, what to say, and how to handle it when something goes wrong.
Chemistry Over Marketing
We favour LiFePO4 cells rated for thousands of cycles over cheaper chemistries that fade after a couple of years. Cycle life is stated on every listing.
Honest Specs
Continuous output, surge capacity and real recharge times — as published by the manufacturer, not rounded up to make a better headline.
Advice Before the Sale
Tell us what you need to run and for how long, and we’ll tell you which unit fits — including when the cheaper one is the right answer.
We Own the Warranty
If something fails inside the warranty period, you deal with us. No being handed a manufacturer’s ticket number and left to chase it.
Transparent Pricing
The price on the product page is the price at checkout. No surprise handling fees, no fake countdown timers, no invented list prices.
An Easy Way Out
Thirty days to change your mind on unused units in original packaging, with no restocking fee. Buying backup power shouldn’t be a gamble.
Five Filters Before Anything Reaches the Catalogue
Most stores add every product a distributor offers them. We do the opposite — the fastest way to protect a customer is to never list the wrong unit in the first place.
-
Established brands only
We stock manufacturers with a service history and parts availability in the US — Anker, Jackery, EcoFlow, Bluetti, Zendure — not white-label units that vanish when support is needed.
-
Certification check
Units must carry the safety certifications expected for US sale, with cells, battery management and charger tested to recognised standards.
-
Spec verification
We compare published capacity, continuous output, surge rating and cycle life against the manufacturer’s own documentation, and rewrite the listing in plain English.
-
Real-world sizing
Every unit is mapped to what it will realistically run — a fridge and router for two days, a CPAP overnight, a job site for a shift — so the numbers mean something.
-
After-sale review
Warranty claims and support tickets feed back into the catalogue. A model that generates repeat problems gets removed, however well it sells.
Us vs a Marketplace vs Buying Direct
Each route has its place. Here’s where a specialist retailer genuinely wins — and where it doesn’t.

Different Reasons, Same Requirement
Power that works the day you need it, without a generator’s fuel, fumes and noise.
Homeowners
Storm season in outage-prone states. Keep the fridge, router, lights and medical devices running without wiring in a standby generator.
RV & Van Life
Silent power at the campsite, recharged from the alternator on the drive or from solar while you’re parked up.
Off-Grid & Cabins
Solar generator setups sized for a weekend place or a full-time off-grid build, with expansion batteries when needs grow.
Trades & Job Sites
Run tools and charge batteries where there’s no hookup yet — and where a gas generator isn’t welcome indoors.
Brands We Carry
What You Get With Every Order
The same four commitments on a $500 unit and a $5,000 system.
24–48 Hour Dispatch
Most orders leave the warehouse within two business days, fully tracked from our door to yours.
24-Month Warranty
Covering manufacturing defects, handled by us rather than handed off to a support queue.
30-Day Returns
Unused and in original packaging, returned within thirty days, with no restocking fee.
Support That Replies
Questions about sizing, solar compatibility or warranty answered by a person, usually within hours.
Questions People Ask Before Buying
Product questions live on the main FAQ page — these are about us.
Are you an actual US business or a drop-shipper?
We’re a registered business operating from Austin, Texas, shipping to all 50 states. Orders are dispatched with full tracking and our warranty and returns are handled by us directly, not passed to a third party overseas.
How do you choose which brands to carry?
Five filters, listed above: established manufacturer with US service presence, expected safety certifications, verified specs, a realistic sizing profile, and a clean after-sale record. Models that generate repeat warranty problems get dropped regardless of sales volume.
Can you help me work out what size I need?
Yes, and it’s the part of the job we like most. Send us a list of what you want to run and roughly how long — a fridge, a router, a few lights, a CPAP overnight — and we’ll come back with the capacity and output you actually need, including when a cheaper unit will do.
Why buy from you instead of the brand’s own site?
Buying direct is a perfectly good option, and we’ll say so when it’s the better one. What we add is cross-brand comparison, honest sizing advice from someone not tied to a single catalogue, and a warranty process you don’t have to chase yourself.
What happens if my unit fails after a year?
Contact us, not the manufacturer. Manufacturing defects inside the 24-month period are covered, and we coordinate the claim, the replacement and the logistics on your behalf.
How do I reach a human?
Email support@powerbackupsupply.com or call +1 (318) 341-5522 during Mon–Fri, 9am–6pm. Most messages are answered the same business day, and you’ll be talking to someone who knows the products rather than reading from a script.
Tell Us What You Need to Keep Running
Send us your list and we’ll size a system around it — or browse the catalogue and ask us anything before you buy.
