Anker SOLIX F3800: whole home backup without a standby generator
The Anker SOLIX F3800 is where portable power stops being a box on the kitchen counter and becomes a home energy system. It stores 3,840Wh, delivers 6,000W continuous with 9,000W of surge, and supplies both 120V and 240V from a single unit. That dual voltage is the part that matters: it lets you run a well pump, a dryer or a central air handler, appliances that every smaller power station has to refuse.
It also scales further than almost anything else in its class. Add up to six BP3800 expansion batteries for 26.9kWh, or pair two F3800 units for 12,000W and 53.8kWh, which is genuine multi day, whole home territory.
What the Anker SOLIX F3800 can run
Estimated runtimes on a full charge, one appliance at a time, assuming about 85% usable capacity after inverter losses.
| Appliance | Typical draw | Estimated runtime |
|---|---|---|
| Wi-Fi router and modem | 20W | Over 6 days |
| CPAP machine (no humidifier) | 40W | About 80 hours, a week of nights |
| Full size refrigerator | 150W while running | Around 2.5 days, as the compressor cycles |
| Furnace blower | 600W | Around 15 hours of actual running time |
| Sump pump | 800W | Around 16 hours of pumping time |
| Well pump | 1,000W | Around 3 hours of continuous running, far longer in normal cycling use |
| Window air conditioner | 700W | About 4.5 hours continuous |
| Electric dryer (240V) | 3,000W | About 1 hour |
| Essentials together | fridge, lights, internet, phones, TV | Between one and two days |
| EV charging | NEMA 14-50 | About 12 miles of range from a full charge |

Key features
6,000W output with 120V and 240V in one unit
Most portable power stations only give you 120V, which rules out dryers, well pumps, pool pumps and many central air systems. The F3800 supplies split phase 120V and 240V from the same box, with 9,000W of surge for motor startup. Pair two units and you have 12,000W.
Expandable to 26.9kWh
Start at 3.84kWh and add up to six BP3800 expansion batteries, reaching 26.9kWh on a single unit, or 53.8kWh across two. That is the difference between covering an evening and covering a week, and you can add batteries as budget allows rather than all at once.
2,400W of solar input
Dual 60V solar inputs accept up to 2,400W, enough to reach 80% in about 1.5 hours of strong sun. For anyone off grid or facing multi day outages, that matters more than battery size: a system you can refill every day effectively never runs out. The Anker SOLIX F3800 also supports AC coupling with existing home solar.
Direct EV and RV charging
NEMA 14-50 and L14-30 outlets mean you plug an EV or an RV straight in, with no adapters. A full F3800 adds roughly 12 miles of range to an electric car, which is emergency range rather than a charging solution, but useful when the grid is down and you need to move.
Built for a decade
EV grade LFP cells rated for over 3,000 cycles to 80% capacity, with a 10 year expected lifespan and a 5 year manufacturer warranty. Anker’s InfiniPower design adds temperature monitoring and a drop resistant unibody, which matters on a unit this size that gets moved on wheels.
Connects to your home panel
With Anker’s Home Power Panel or a standard transfer switch, the Anker SOLIX F3800 feeds selected circuits directly, so backup power arrives at your wall outlets rather than through extension leads. That is the practical difference between a power station and a home backup system.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Anker SOLIX F3800 and the F3800 Plus?
Same 3,840Wh capacity and same 6,000W output. The Plus raises solar input from 2,400W to 3,200W and adds refinements aimed at permanent whole home installations. If you are charging mainly from the grid, or running a moderate solar array, the standard Anker SOLIX F3800 gives you the same power for less. If you are going off grid with a large array, the Plus recharges faster.
How long does the Anker SOLIX F3800 last?
Two answers. On a single charge, it runs a fridge, lights, internet and phones for between one and two days, and a single appliance such as a CPAP machine for around 80 hours. Over its lifetime, the LFP cells are rated for more than 3,000 cycles to 80% capacity, which Anker puts at roughly 10 years.
How long does it take to charge?
From solar, 0 to 80% in about 1.5 hours with the full 2,400W input in strong sun. From a wall outlet it draws up to 1,800W, so a full charge takes a few hours. You can also charge from a generator or from a vehicle.
Can it power a whole house?
The Anker SOLIX F3800 can power the circuits that matter, which is what whole home backup means in practice. Connected through a transfer switch or Anker’s Home Power Panel, a single F3800 covers a fridge, lights, internet, a furnace blower, outlets and, thanks to 240V, a well pump. Running central air conditioning and an electric range simultaneously needs two units or expansion batteries.
Do I need an electrician?
For plug in use, no. To wire it into your home’s panel through a transfer switch or the Home Power Panel, yes, and that is not a DIY job. Budget for a licensed electrician as part of the purchase if you want backup power at your wall outlets.
How heavy is it?
The Anker SOLIX F3800 sits around 132 lb, which is why it ships with wheels and a telescoping handle. Plan its position once rather than moving it regularly, and note that it arrives by freight, so someone needs to be home to sign for it.
