Shipping & Delivery

Shipped Fast, Tracked All the Way

Most orders leave the warehouse within two business days and arrive in three to seven. Batteries ship by ground freight under dangerous-goods rules — here’s exactly what that means for your delivery.

Processing and dispatch

Orders are picked, checked and packed before they ship — batteries are inspected and charge-checked rather than pulled blind off a shelf.

  • Orders placed before 1 PM on a business day usually ship the next business day.
  • Everything else ships within two business days.
  • We don’t ship on weekends or US public holidays, and carriers don’t collect on those days either.
  • You’ll get a dispatch email with tracking the moment the label is scanned.
Storm season runs longWhen a major storm is forecast, order volumes spike across the whole industry and carriers slow down at the same time. If you’re buying for a named storm already on the map, message us before ordering and we’ll tell you honestly whether it can arrive in time.

Delivery times

Transit time after dispatch, not counting the processing days above. Batteries travel by ground, so distance genuinely matters — a West Coast order to Maine takes longer than anything a parcel carrier could fly.

Destination Standard ground Freight (large units)
Contiguous US — same region 2–4 business days 3–6 business days

Estimates, not guarantees. Weather, carrier backlogs and remote delivery areas all add time, and no carrier guarantees a date on dangerous-goods freight.

Shipping costs

The price you see at checkout is the price you pay. No handling fees added afterwards, and no surprise carrier invoices later.

Why battery shipping is different

Worth understanding before you order, because it explains most of the constraints on this page and it’s the same for every retailer, not a quirk of ours.

Lithium batteries above 100 watt-hours are classified as Class 9 dangerous goods. Since every power station we sell is well above that threshold, each shipment travels under those rules. In practice:

  • Ground only. Passenger aircraft can’t carry them, so there is no overnight or two-day air option at any price. Anyone promising air delivery on a power station is either mis-shipping it or not shipping a battery.
  • Original packaging matters. Units ship in certified packaging with the correct hazard labels. It’s also why returns need the original box.
  • No PO boxes. Carriers require a street address for dangerous goods.
  • No APO or FPO. Military postal channels don’t accept Class 9 lithium shipments.
  • Charge level is regulated. Units ship at a partial state of charge, usually around 30%. Yours arriving half-empty is correct, not a fault — charge it fully before first use.
All of this is a good signA seller who ships a power station by air, in a plain box, to a PO box is cutting corners that exist for fire safety. The slower route is the compliant one.

Large units and freight delivery

Units above roughly 150 lbs — larger home-backup systems and expansion battery stacks — ship on a pallet by LTL freight rather than by parcel carrier. That’s a different experience from a normal delivery, so here’s what to expect.

  1. The carrier calls to book a window

Freight deliveries are scheduled, not dropped off. You’ll get a call or text to arrange a delivery window, usually a four-hour slot on a weekday. Give us a phone number you actually answer — missed contact is the top cause of freight delays.

  2. Someone must be there to sign

Freight can’t be left unattended. If nobody’s home, the carrier reattempts and may charge a redelivery fee, which is passed on at cost.

  3. Delivery is curbside

The driver brings the pallet to the end of your driveway, not inside the house or garage. Plan to move it from there — a hand truck and a second person is the usual answer.

  4. Ask for a liftgate if you need one

Without a liftgate the pallet comes off a truck bed at waist height, which needs a loading dock or several people. If you have neither, tell us at checkout and we’ll add liftgate service — it costs a little more and saves a great deal of trouble.

  5. Inspect before you sign

Look at the pallet and the box while the driver is still there. If there’s visible damage, note it on the delivery receipt before signing. That note is what makes a freight claim straightforward instead of contested.

Tracking your order

Your dispatch email contains the tracking number and carrier. Tracking can take up to 24 hours to show movement after the label is created, which is normal and not a sign anything is wrong.

Freight shipments track differently from parcels: expect fewer scans and longer gaps between them. A pallet sitting at a terminal for two days is routine, not lost.

If tracking hasn’t updated in three business days, get in touch and we’ll chase the carrier. You don’t need to do that yourself — carriers respond faster to the shipper than to the recipient.

Late, lost or damaged

Damaged in transit

Report it within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the outer box, the packing material and the unit. Keep all the packaging — carriers frequently require an inspection, and discarded packaging can sink a claim. Full detail is on the warranty and returns page.

Wrong address or a change after ordering

Message us immediately. Before dispatch we can usually change it at no cost. After dispatch, carriers charge a redirect fee for dangerous-goods freight and sometimes refuse outright, in which case the shipment returns to us and reships at cost.

Refused or undeliverable

If a shipment is refused, or comes back because nobody was available across all delivery attempts, the return freight and any redelivery charges come off the refund. Freight is expensive in both directions, which is why the scheduling call matters.

Missing but marked delivered

Check with neighbours and around the property first, since drivers sometimes leave parcels out of sight. If it hasn’t turned up after 24 hours, tell us and we’ll open a carrier trace. We don’t leave you to fight that alone.

Common questions

Can I get it overnight or express?

No, and neither can anyone else. Overnight and two-day services move by air, and lithium batteries above 100Wh can’t fly on passenger aircraft. Every power station ships by ground regardless of what you’re willing to pay. If you need one before a storm, order early rather than fast.

Why did my unit arrive only partly charged?

Dangerous-goods rules require lithium batteries to ship at a partial state of charge, typically around 30%. It’s a regulatory requirement, not a fault or a used unit. Charge it fully before first use and check it reaches 100%.

Do you ship to PO boxes?

Not for anything containing a battery — carriers require a street address for dangerous goods. Small accessories without batteries can go to a PO box. If your street address is hard to find or access, add a note at checkout.

Do I have to be home for delivery?

For standard parcel deliveries, usually not, though some carriers require a signature for higher-value shipments. For freight deliveries of large units, yes — the carrier books a window with you in advance and someone has to sign.

Do you ship internationally?

Not currently. We ship within the United States, including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. Cross-border lithium shipments involve customs and dangerous-goods paperwork we’d rather not do badly.

Can I collect in person?

Message us and ask. It depends where you are relative to our warehouse, and it’s easier to answer for a specific address than in general.

Question About Your Delivery?

Send your order number and we’ll chase the carrier for you. First response within one business day, usually sooner.
